Grrgoyles are handmade ceramic individuals typically occupying custom frames, but also adorning functional containers, wearables, and sometimes other random items. Like their gargoyle ancestors, they are believed to ward off evil spirits.
Many are more whimsical than surly, but each has something to say.

After retiring from a long, grueling career in graphic design and then marketing/communications management, I returned to purely personal artistic expression, working in ceramics as well as drawing and painting. My husband says I'm taking out my aggressions through clay, but I think the grrgoyles simply emerge, with their own agendas and attitudes.
